Privacy Policy

FeedMyBudget Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FeedMyBudget collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective date: 8 May 2026

Overview

FeedMyBudget helps users compare Australian grocery prices, plan recipes, manage shopping lists, and apply store and dietary preferences. The app uses public grocery pricing data, account data you provide, and local device storage to make the service work.

We do not sell your personal information. We use your information to provide the app, sync your data across devices, improve reliability, and keep pricing and store information useful.

Information We Collect

Account information

If you create an account or sign in, we may collect your email address, authentication identifiers, session tokens, and basic profile state needed to link your app data to your account.

App data you create

Depending on how you use the app, FeedMyBudget may store shopping lists, recipe collections, pantry items, favourites, watchlist items, preferred products, store preferences, budget settings, and price reports you submit.

Preferences and dietary information

The app may store dietary preferences, allergen settings, avoided ingredients or products, warning settings, and preferred stores or store locations. These settings are used to personalize product, recipe, and shopping-list results.

Location-related information

FeedMyBudget may use suburb, postcode, state, selected store branches, or approximate coordinates you provide or approve to find relevant stores and price information. The app does not need continuous background location tracking for its core grocery comparison features.

Device, log, and usage information

We may process technical information such as device type, app version, network status, request logs, error logs, and API diagnostics to operate and troubleshoot the service.

Local Storage and Sync

FeedMyBudget stores a local database on your device so prices, recipes, shopping lists, and preferences can load faster and remain available when network access is limited. Some public pricing data may be bundled with the app or downloaded as a cache.

If you use an account, selected personal app data may sync with the backend so it can be restored or used across devices. Signing out may clear user-specific local data depending on the sign-out option used, while public price data may remain cached for guest use.

How We Use Information

Third-Party Services

FeedMyBudget may use third-party services for authentication, hosting, database infrastructure, product enrichment, maps, and device features. These may include Supabase, Open Food Facts, map/location providers, hosting providers, and operating-system services used by your device.

Grocery pricing and product information may be based on publicly available or collected store catalogue data. Store names and product names belong to their respective owners.

Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as hosting, authentication, database, and monitoring providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or to investigate misuse.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention

We keep account and app data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet operational needs, resolve issues, and satisfy legal obligations. Cached public price data may remain on your device until the app replaces it, clears it, or is uninstalled.

Your Choices

Children

FeedMyBudget is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and publish the revised policy at this page.
